A Story of Love & Legacy - The Musson Mural

Set within a grand arch in the foyer of the Queen Victoria Building Boutique, this striking mural captures one of the most personal and defining moments in the brand’s history. It depicts Robert and Kerry Musson, founders of Musson Jewellers, sharing a quiet embrace at the 2013 Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards, the night Robert received the inaugural Supreme Award for his piece Origin, alongside three other category wins.

Originally a black-and-white photograph that spoke volumes about love, pride and partnership, the image has been reimagined as a contemporary artwork, the result of a creative collaboration between Olivar and Catherine Musson and designer Emilie Delalande of Etic. Together, they brought to life a shared vision for The Grand Boutique and Workshop, and the mural that now forms its heart. The trio translated that intimate moment into an abstract composition of layered textiles and brass, weaving together the warmth of emotion with the precision of design.

Using a rich palette of deep scarlet, soft neutrals and brushed gold fabrics, the mural mirrors both the tones of fine jewellery and the emotional depth of the moment itself. Its geometric planes are reminiscent of diamond facets, angular yet luminous, symbolising how Musson’s success has always been shaped by both artistic brilliance and enduring family connection.
