A history of evocative excellence

Like all of us, jewellery has a story to tell. For over half a century, Musson has helped capture customers’ stories – from the littlest of moments to life-changing milestones.

From engagement rings to statement pieces, Musson jewellery comes with a history of provenance and creation. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted using only the finest gems, including the rare Argyle Pink Diamond.

1972

The Musson story begins when Robert and Kerry Musson open a retail store in Crow’s Nest, with the spark of an idea to create unique and beautiful pieces.

The store is first located in a little arcade below an office building, before they move in 1974 to 76 Willoughby Road Crow’s Nest, taking over a lease for a butcher’s store. They transform the space with their flair and creativity, soon becoming a destination jewellery store, renowned for unusual collections and impeccable craftsmanship.

1977

Musson become the first distributor and service centre for Cartier fine jewellery and watches in Australia and the South Pacific. In 1979 Robert & Kerry purchase and renovate their 76 Willoughby Road site.

1982

In 1985 he receives a Diploma of Honour in the De Beers Diamonds Today Awards, and in 1987 wins a De Beers Diamonds Today Award in the Solitaire Diamond Category. Over the next fifteen years Robert is a consistent winner or finalist in the De Beers Diamond Facets Awards, before De Beers exits the Australian Market in 2000.
